MaCS implements innovative communication project for Hewlett-Packard
HP TSG briefs sales team per phonecast on the new role of IT
Oberschleissheim, May 22, 2007– Information on the new role of IT and the corresponding spectrum of solutions offered by Hewlett-Packard are to be communicated in new and innovative ways to the sales team of the Technology Solutions Group (TSG) in Germany. Sales team staff were thus able to listen to the latest information as a phonecast by mobile phone from their respective location. The idea and implementation were supplied by the MaCS GmbH Marketing Communication Services agency.
Hewlett-Packard was looking for an innovation way of conveying important information to the sales team of the Technology Solutions Group (TSG). Ideally by phone, as the sales force are mostly on the road. The solution: phonecasts, i.e. podcasts that can be listened to over the phone at any time, anywhere.
To inform them about the new role of IT and the accompanying solution portfolio, HP texted all TSG Sales Force staff inviting them to call back and listen to an informative voice recording on the subject. In two phonecast sequels spaced a week apart, the German TSG management explained in detail and presented the new ”business technology“ era in an entertaining manner. The latter focuses on the contribution of IT to business success.
“We are thrilled that the first two HP TSG phonecasts were received so well by our colleagues in Sales“, stated the delighted Melanie Ekert, HP TSG Communication / Internet Manager, responsible for the project. “Feedback on the phonecasts was also positive across the board.“
Phone feedback
Besides information dissemination, the project also incorporated feedback from listeners. “At the end, phonecast callers can take part directly in a survey on the phone and give their feedback on what they have just heard“, explained Ulf Kramer, Account Director at MaCS GmbH. For this purpose, MaCS-Partner and the Heidelberg phonecast service provider, Just Digits, developed an appropriate voting function. At the end of the respective phonecast, questions were asked for assessment purposes and the answers recorded by voice recognition.
To ensure that information was only accessed by authorised persons, the phonecasts could only be called up by HP employees who had been previously notified.
