 Aiming to capitalize on strong growth within the Open Source and Linux server market in the USA, Red Hat has now firmly set its sights on developing the European market.
To win a greater share of Continental business, the worldwide leader in Open Source and Linux products for enterprises, knows it must first raise awareness of its solutions within the various countries. To help it achieve this, Red Hat searched for a European agency that could provide comprehensive support.
In the end, the enterprise chose for MaCS. As a pilot, Red Hat requested the agency to undertake a project based on the release of the new “Red Hat Enterprises Linux 4" (RHEL 4) operating system in Europe.
First project – target achieved
To address the target audience in Spain, MaCS developed a comprehensive e-marketing concept that included a standalone e-mail, text advertisements in Linux-relevant newsletters, search engine marketing and a landing page that offered a download of RHEL4 as fulfillment collateral. The download motivated potential leads to visit the site where their details were recorded before the RHEL 4 test version could be downloaded.
The result: Red Hat successfully heralded its entrance into the Spanish market and established a strong relationship with MaCS on which to build for the future.
